ABOUT RAFF

I want to work with people to help them to be happy, achieve a healthy lifestyle, to be able to reach their personal goals but to be able to do it in a supportive way. The only way I’ve found to do this is to look at the whole picture, the lifestlye picture. After graduating, I moved to Australia and continued teaching Zumba alongside my very well paid but very boring 9-5 job! I did not like this job but I did love teaching on the weekends.

I loved the Australian lifestyle; being outside, constant exercise, good food and a generally happy, easy-going lifestyle. But Australia was too far from home so the only answer was to bring that happy, fun-loving, energetic lifestyle back to the UK. I want to work with people to help them be happy, achieve a healthy lifestyle, and reach their personal goals in a supportive way. The only way I have found to do this is to look at the whole picture. The lifestyle picture.

LIFESTYLE

It’s about balance…. working hard, but also having downtime; eating salad, but being able to enjoy a glass of wine; getting that promotion, but spending time with your children; lifting heavyweights, but also doing yoga. I don’t believe in deprivation; I believe you can have chocolate you just don’t eat the whole bar!

Lifestyle is an umbrella and under that comes, mental well-being, nutrition, physical health and fitness. To be able to achieve a happy healthy lifestyle you have to find the right balance that works for you in all of the above.

MENTAL WELLBEING

A lot of clients come to me with issues of stress, depression and anxiety. My aim as a wellbeing coach and personal trainer is to ask questions, to find out about you, what you love, what you hate, what is work like, what are your stressors, where do you holiday, how do you relax? From there we can establish any problem areas and tackle them one at a time.

The majority of the time any initial problems can be solved first and foremost with a 2-minute session on the boxing pads! Nothing beats a stressful situation more than punching someone (who has boxing pads)! Once we have the outlined any issues you feel are holding you back we can then look to figure out a plan to balance work stress, home life, body image, fitness and of course nutrition.

NUTRITION

It’s really simple to say; eat clean, train to be lean and build a strong wellbeing machine.

Nutrition is the most important part of building a healthy lifestyle but it’s also the hardest. So many things can get in the way of you eating well. Working late, cooking for one, cooking for children, being on the road, limited lunch breaks, fussy eaters. These are all common issues and I have a solution for every single one.

And if there is a problem then I can help come up with the solutions for you to be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle even when I’m not in the room. Nutrition is so important and it’s why I give a lot of support, advice, plans and recipes to my clients when planning what to eat, as I’m not going to be there when you’re doing your food shop, making your dinner or eating out. I love food so it’s only right I help you love it too but to love the right stuff, not the white stuff. SUGAR!!

FITNESS

And so we lead on to when I am in the room.

First and foremost I am a personal trainer, I help my clients achieve their goals in one to one sessions, group personal training and group exercise classes. The most important thing for me about personal training is in the name… it is personal to you, to your goals, your needs, and your abilities.

“I’m a huge believer in building confidence so that you can eventually go at it alone (if you wish). I’m invested in every single one of my clients. I want you to succeed and I believe that you can, whatever success looks like for you”
